Dishes

I actually like to wash dishes.  This is handy because there are a lot of dishes to wash in the run of a day here.  We don't have many dishes which is also handy because then they can't pile up.  I also have some control issues.  My partner does a fine job of washing them but I still enjoy doing them so I know they are clean.  I don't know, I guess there are some things I should let go of.

How do you feel about doing the dishes?  Do you like to let a machine do it?  If so, who empties and fills it?

    I forgot about your blog......sorry. I try to stay away from sugar so a lot of your recipes sound delicious but I don't bake them. Sugar, in my opinion, causes my RA to spike.

    Anyway, regarding dishes. I hand wash my dishes even though I have a dishwasher. Linn and I both do dishes, he does any that may be left over from the night before and I do them during the day. I find it less of a hassle than loading and unloading the dishwasher. Also, what I need is always available and clean. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen since I cook from scratch and do a lot of canning, dehydrating and freezing.

    oh Rana...i had to respond to this question. i do despise doing the dishes of all house chores. used to love them when Trevor and i would do them together, ok maybe not love them but didn't mind doing them as much then. but not being on my own out here on the West Coast, it is the one thing i tend to avoid at all costs :) any solutions or suggestions that might may me change my mind?

      Perhaps do them as you dirty them. That is good for two reasons: it never becomes a big job and it helps your kitchen to look clean. Washing them right away is easier on you as the food is not dry and stuck on so you have to scrub less. When I'm doing a lot of cooking or prepping, I keep the sink with hot, soapy water. I drop tools in it as I am through with them and they clean easier and I'm far less likely to lick them clean! Hope this helps! Short of getting Trevor back out there, words are the best help I can offer.
